Downtown Seattle
There is a lot to see in downtown Seattle, and the sights, due to the vibrant and growing nature of the city's core, are always changing. We will point out downtown's retail stores, including the flagship store of Nordstrom, and we may just air some opinions about where we like to eat! We’ll tour through Seattle’s heart & soul: The Pike Place Public Market, with the very first Starbucks coffee shop. We’ll show the art museum, the symphony hall, and the critically-acclaimed public library.

Pioneer Square
Pioneer Square is the oldest part of our city. We’ll give you some history, like the Great Fire which leveled the city, and discuss the interesting sights here. Pioneer Square is home to many wonderful art galleries and antique stores. We'll also see Seattle's smashing sports arenas - Safeco Field, home of the Seattle Mariners baseball team, and Qwest Stadium for pro football and major league soccer.

Chinatown/International District
In the picturesque Chinatown/International District, we’ll introduce the dynamic pan-Asian diversity of our city’s people, with its unique cultural museum, great restaurants, and architecture.

The Waterfront
Here, at the center of many of Seattle's water-based industries, we will see the shipping port and the docks for the Washington State ferry system, which take commuters, tourists, and others to and from Bainbridge Island. We'll head north along the waterfront past souvenir shops and restaurants, and other Puget Sound attractions including boat cruises, parasailing, the Aquarium, and the Olympic Sculpture Park.

Outstanding Views of the City
Seattle affords visitors and residents numerous spectacular views, due to its many steep hills and rises. From the picture-postcard viewpoint of Kerry Park on Queen Anne Hill, we will look over this thriving metropolis, towards downtown, Elliott Bay, West Seattle, and if we’re lucky, we’ll see Mount Rainier, the majestic peak to the southeast and the highest point in Washington State.

Our Neighborhoods
Seattle has been called less a city than a confederation of neighborhoods, each with a strong identity. We'll take a look at some of them, on the fringes of downtown and outward, including Queen Anne and Fremont. If you are thinking about moving to Seattle, you’ll find this part of the tour especially interesting. In the neighborhood of the “Artists’ Republic of Fremont” (whose unofficial slogan is De Libertas Quirkas – “free to be peculiar"), we’ll enjoy public sculptures including the giant bridge Troll. On Lake Union, Seattle's floating homes (including the one used in the film Sleepless in Seattle) form a neighborhood in themselves, and we’ll take a look at them during our tour.

Ballard Locks
Even when the salmon are not spawning, the Hiram M. Chittenden Locks—known as the Ballard Locks after the neighborhood to their north—are a spectacular place to visit.  In fact, they are the third most visited sight in Seattle, after the Space Needle & Pike Place Market. We'll see boats, both pleasure craft and commercial vessels, making the move from the salt-water of Puget Sound to the fresh water of Lake Washington, and vice versa.
 And from June through November, the height of salmon spawning season, we'll get to see an exciting migration, and also perhaps a few sea lions, come not to watch the spectacle, but to eat it! Unlike other tours, your visit to the locks is fully escorted by your guide, with detailed explanations of the salmon life cycle and the operation of the locks.
